Fern - Japanese Painted Fern

One of the most popular cultivated ferns, the Japanese Painted Fern adds silvery highlights, accented with burgundy veins, to a dark or shady garden area. This purple Japanese fern features tuft-shaped arrays of fronds that appear to be delicately painted in a metallic silver. While you may think of shade plants as uniformly glossy and green, this light and lacy "painted lady" is the perfect plant to break up the monotony, and to infuse texture and serenity to shade gardens. Easy to grow, 'Metallicum' tolerates shade and heavier soils. Despite its soft and feathery appearance, deer and rabbits tend to avoid this plant. 
 
GROWN AS NATURE INTENDED: We let nature decide when our plants grow and when to bloom rather than force them using any steroids or chemicals.  We leave perennials outside all year with snow, rain, blazing sun, or anything else nature decides, to ensure that you are getting a viable plant.
 
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Each plant is selected and prepared for shipping. Plants are removed from their container, foliage is trimmed to minimize stress during transit, and soil content is reduced. The process is designed to preserve the condition of the plants from nursery to arrival.  Every plant root system is individually wrapped with wet paper towels around the root system before putting in a waterproof sleeve.
